There is an organisation called the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (10a Byard Lane, Nottingham NG1 2GJ, tel 0115-958-0585) who might be able to help.
Also, there is a firm called Irwin Mitchell, who have offices in Sheffield and Birmingham. I haven't dealt with them in connection with RSI, but I they are acting for me in a medical negligence case, and I think very highly of them. I know they do handle RSI cases. Their telephone number in Sheffield is 0114-276-7777, address St Peters House, Hartshead, Sheffield S1 2EL.
They found an excellent medical expert for my case, and I imagine they also know medical experts to call upon for RSI. I had to pay the initial costsi upfront, about =A32500, which covers things through the getting of t= he medical expert's reporti, then we are to consider how the case should be financed from there on in, depending on the strength of the case (which of course depends mostly on the expert's report). =20
I don't know whether the costs would be similar for RSI.

Both ought to be working -- the text version is quicker to download so that's the one mentioned in the announcement. I'll have a look at it and see what's gone wrong. Thanks for mentioning it.

Do bear in mind that many of the subscribers on this list are suffering from some degree of disability, and enduring very high levels of stress. It's hardly appropriate to make provocative remarks with the intention of "stirring things up".

You might like to browse through the archives of the list for this.

Just in case there is any misunderstanding, can I clarify this point. The list is here to _provide an opportunity_ for people to talk about their experiences with RSI, if they wish to do so. If they prefer, they're free to remain silent and simply read what others say. There is absolutely no duty or expectation for anyone to say anything if they don't choose to do so.

Diffuse RSI is notoriously difficult to diagnose. It's what's left if the doctors can't find any other explanation. But it's not an either/or situation: you might easily be suffering from whiplash and also from RSI. Or if it's only whiplash, it could turn out that you're more vulnerable to injury as a result. I think you're wise to be cautious about returning to working eight hours a day in a stressful environment. Have you considered using voice recognition? A lot of people have found this a great help in enabling them to get back to work. By using VR, you could perhaps venture back to working with a keyboard more gradually, till you see what you can bear.

Can you not see that this sort of comment is likely to make people feel guilty for not posting? That's _not_ the purpose of the list. Often people do feel the impulse to let others know about something they've discovered which helped them, but there's certainly no obligation on anyone to do so. It's perfectly okay for subscribers to treat the list as "read only".

Good luck in finding something that will help. You might want to have a look at the FAQ and the website, also to join the RSI Association (see website for contact details).
